Right Angle: Opening Doors to College

The Right Angle was founded in 1996 and eventually found its role in the support of Noble Network students who qualified for Summer of a Lifetime (SOL) university enrichment programs. The mission of the Right Angle has always been to send these typically low-income, high school students to pre-collegiate programs at prestigious universities across the country.

Often students who participate in the SOL program have never left the state of Illinois, or even Chicago in some cases and had little hope of attending college. Given an opportunity to stay on a college campus, meet other students from all over the world and attend classes taught by university professors, these students return with unparalleled confidence in their abilities and a burning desire to attend college. Right Angle provides the financial and moral support that enables this experience, making it all possible. This summer school experience is the spark that motivates students to attend college while they still have two or more years left in high school and a chance
 to do something about it.

Most students experience a “summer of a lifetime”(SOL) during the summer after their sophomore and junior years, gaining excitement and confidence in the opportunity of a college education.
