Noble Street’s health and fitness program is designed to help students develop knowledge and habits for a healthy lifestyle.
Students participate in fitness classes all four years. Noble campuses offer a full menu of competitive sports and athletes earn physical education credit while in season. Physical education is a graded class required for students’ promotion and graduation. Students take fitness tests each spring and must meet increasing standards of fitness each year. Fitness tests are a measurement of student achievement and a tool for evaluation of the overall fitness program, and they motivate students to improve their fitness.
Noble Street’s health and fitness guidelines prohibit soda and junk food in all campus buildings, require students to take the stairs and encourage students to participate in citywide fitness events as participants or volunteers. Noble Street campuses have invested in an upgraded meal plan that features whole grains, fresh fruit and vegetables and minimal commodity products.
All students receive instruction in physical, emotional and mental health. Advisories often invite guest speakers focused on health issues. All students read The 7 Habits of Healthy Teens, and the habits are incorporated into Noble’s guidelines for healthy behavior.
